Chinatown Storytelling Centre

The Chinatown Storytelling Centre exhibits the history of Vancouver’s Chinatown and how this community has shaped the city’s past and present through its rich culture, people, and stories. Historical pieces tell the story of the early Chinese Canadian community and how these people have built and shaped Vancouver and Canada throughout the years.

Designed by Aldrich Pears Associates and built by 3DS, the centre includes various display cases, mural walls, audio-visual integration, and replicas of significant historical structures including a ship interior, photo booth, and storefront. These features engage visitors in the history and heritage of Vancouver’s Chinatown community, and encourage the passing on of cultural stories for generations to come.
