A Presentation Centre With A Definite Family Resemblance
The contemporary character of the East West Partners real estate sales center is carried through to its nearby sister facility, also in Canmore, Alberta. Canmore is just outside Banff and is a rapidly developing resort community. Three Sisters Mountain Village has a mountain resort presentation center that celebrates the rough mountaineering life in a polished, modern style. Reclaimed timber is heavily in use here, as well as walls of caged, locally-sourced river rock. Surrounded by carved impressionistic Birch trees under custom wire mesh lighting, visitors gather and talk around a “virtual campfire”.An enormous 17-foot-long “picnic table”, with a hand-carved wood map, shows ski resorts and other recreational facilities within a 50 Mile radius. Although brand new, the table map looks weathered and timeworn, carved into by years of successive campers. As the center’s focal point, 3DS sculpted two full-sized Elk from reclaimed wood, in recognition of the huge natural Elk migration corridor that runs through the property and of the Developer’s measures to preserve that corridor.
