A Very Contemporary Ski Store, Over Ten Years Old & Still On The Cutting Edge

One of perennial jewels in the 3DS crown is the Salomon Store in Whistler, BC. Even after a full decade, this stunning retail space continues to bring a big “Wow” out of visitors, on a daily basis. 3DS made everything in this extremely contemporary ski store, from the front desk to the wall fixtures to the display cabinets. The entire retail environment is solidly themed, right down to the fully-equipped tech benches, complete with all-standard drawers, yet transformed to fit the store’s slick, seamless, ultramodern style. The interior’s centerpiece is the dramatic, soaring ceiling scrim, which makes full use of the unusually high ceilings. An art piece in itself, this stretchable fiber ceiling is illuminated by completely standard halogen lighting, projected from the top, for breathtaking effect.
3DS has done plenty of sports themed retail store design. Another reason this beautiful space has stood the test of time is that this is an entirely reconfigurable retail space. From the entrance way to the power walls, each moveable display allows the store to be given a fresh new store footprint, anytime.
