Nantucket Natural Oils: A Sea Of Tiny Bottles Makes A Giant Connection

Nantucket Natural Oils had a unique marketing problem. Located at one of San Francisco’s major tourist attractions, historic Pier 39, and part of a growing national chain, the store had to make a strong showing in this bustling outdoor themed retail environment, or risk being lost in the bustle. The storefront design was not the problem – 3DS created a dynamic, somewhat whimsical face and creative awning for the business that made a lovely opening statement. But inside, the challenge became clear: The entire product line was made up of tiny bottles and small accessories, with almost no product in the store over two or three inches tall. 3DS found the underlying story in the product line and in the company philosophy and spread it all over the store. We applied lots of large informational panels to present the product and give it context. We created display cases with a sort of “Alice In Wonderland” apothecary feel to them. Even the counter and seating reflected the spirit of the company. A favourite feature was the “Mix Your Own Perfume Bar”. Every detail transported the visitor into the special world of Nantucket Natural Oils.
